JOB TITLE: DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS, HOKA NAZ ELITE

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The NAZ Elite Director of Operations (Director of Ops) is a vital role in the Organization. It is a 40-hour-per-week, full-time position. The Director of Ops reports to the Head Coach but also works closely with the NAZ Athletes, the Assistant Coach, the HOKA Sports Marketing Department, Athlete Representatives, Insurance contacts, and the HOKA social media and PR teams.

The Head Coach will be responsible for creating any required office hours (which can vary during certain times of the year) and any required staff meetings, team meetings, individual meetings, etc.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all facets of team travel, including all NAZ athletes and staff travel/lodging for competitions, events, and brand activations.
  • Works directly with the HOKA Sports Marketing team (and secondary sponsors) on athlete appearances, event activations, and the execution of NAZ Elite athlete contract bonuses and reimbursements
  • Oversees marketing-related duties in conjunction with HOKA’s social media and PR teams
  • Manages and produces the NAZ Elite weekly newsletter (which keeps fans up to date on the team’s race schedule and results and on any news articles, podcasts, videos, etc. in which NAZ athletes are featured)
  • Maintains and updates nazelite.com, immediately posting results after competitions, keeping all athlete bios up to date, writing press releases when necessary, etc.
  • Responsible for HR related items, including the on-boarding of new athletes, management of our team health insurance plan, and payments to our physio, massage, and chiropractic providers
  • Serves as our bookkeeper and manages our budget, including, but not limited to monthly payroll, receiving/paying invoices, and reconciling all payments monthly
  • Oversees the NAZ Elite Performance Center and works with staff/athletes to ensure that the Performance Center remains clean and in good repair, record boards are updated, and decor is current
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working in an office or administrative role coordinating logistics or operations

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Must be willing to relocate to, or live in, Flagstaff, Arizona
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter and team player
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and problem solve when needed
  • Experience with content creation and/or social media management a plus
  • Strong computer skills; experience with Quickbooks a plus
  • Passion and interest in professional running
  • Ability to occasionally shift work hours to include some nights and weekends
